Ahh, September in the Gulf of Mexico. The crowds of the summer months have begun to depart, and the snowbirds won't arrive for a couple of months. September, the start of the autumn shoulder season in Florida, is one of the best times of the year to visit Anna Maria Island (AMI). Due in part to its comfortable climate, fewer crowds, and a wide array of things to do, an Anna Maria Island getaway in September is always a good idea.

The fall weather on AMI in September is some of the best year-round. With average temperatures ranging from the mid-70s to the high 80s, the weather is perfect for enjoying the many outdoor activities Anna Maria Island has to offer (with much less sweat)!
You'll find that the island is still enjoying the warmth of summer but with slightly cooler temperatures in the evenings. While there might be an occasional chance of rain and more precipitation than the winter months, the showers are typically brief and followed by clear skies, offering a nice break from the sun.
Although humidity is still a factor, it's generally less than in the summer months, making beach days and other outdoor activities perfectly comfortable.
