Getting Around the Island

The following are ways to get around the island:

The Free Trolley

You don’t need a car to get around the island. The Free Trolley travels on a continuous loop throughout the day from one end of the island to the other; its first stop is the Anna Maria City Pier, Coquina Beach; its last stop.

With stops every two to four blocks, you can get on and off the trolley for some sightseeing, dining, shopping, or to spend the day at one of the island’s many beaches.

Monkey Bus

Island Beach Monkeys, a local transportation service, also known as Monkey Bus, provides free transportation on the island. Instead of payment, Monkey Bus relies on tips from riders.

Driving around until the early morning hours, Monkey Bus provides a way for those enjoying island nightlife to get back to their hotel or rental home safely.

In addition to the Free Trolley and Monkey Bus, you can rent bikes, scooters, and golf carts to get from one place to another on the island.
